A 28-year-old motorcyclist, Kingsley Emem Obioffiong, was yesterday 13th June 2018 condemned to 28 years in jail, with hard work, for assaulting a 15-year-old young lady in Akpautong, Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Obioffiong who is from Akpautong, was indicted by a State High Court sitting in Eket, on a two tally charge of snatching and assault.
While the Presiding Judge, Justice Nsemeke Daniel in his judgment, condemned Obioffiong to seven years in jail on check one, he imprisoned him for a long time in tally two, with the term running simultaneously beginning from first of June 2016, when he was captured.
The episode happened on 27th May, 2016, when the 15-year-old young lady, Miriam (surname withheld by me) joined other school kids for the festival at Uquo Township Stadium.
Toward the finish of the occasion, Miriam and one other female understudy, picked a bike worked by the convict who as opposed to taking them to their goal in Ekpene Obo, strongly took the young ladies through a hedge track to his home in Akpautong, where they were group assaulted by five men for three great days without nourishment.
A medicinal report submitted under the watchful eye of the Court demonstrated that one of them, Miriam had wounds and blood in vagina in light of the power sex.
The therapeutic master, Dr. Emmanuel Iren who is the arraignment witness in the issue, said he found "delicacy at the lower some portion of her stomach area called hypogastrum, seeping in the vulva of the vagina and wounds at the vulva. The draining was from the horizontal fornis and not the cervix, in this manner affirming that the draining was caused by a tear of the sidelong fornis and not from monthly cycle."
The convict had the Court that "the reality of the matter is that I assaulted her. Subsequent to having sweet sex with her, I urinated inside her body. She remained in my home for three days. I don't have any acquaintance with her name. I just met her at Esit Eket Stadium amid the Children's Day. She was so sweet and tight."
Equity Daniel said "in all these, the young lady was shouting, yelling and weeping for help yet none came her way till the blamed exited for the room in the evening of 29th May, 2016 in disturbance undermining to go and convey more individuals to join to assault her since she was yelling on the bed. It was then that Miriam had the opportunity to escape and raced to one lady's home who concealed her till morning, before escorting her out to the street to take a bicycle to her folks house."
The judge said Obioffiong in his confirmation, who amid preliminary inside preliminary, expressed that he never knew the casualty the date of the occurrence, anyway said amid the primary preliminary, that Miriam was his better half since 2015.
